New Trend: Wedding Etiquette question every Thursday

Today, we are starting a new trend. Every Thursday, I will answer an etiquette question that I got from my brides over the years. Hope they will help you and if you have any, do not hesitate to ask: information@youruniqueevent.com

We starting this new trend with the following question:

Can children be excluded on the invite?

Having a wedding excluding children can be stressful for a couple because of the risk of upsetting their family members that have small children. There are steps that you can take to explain this information in a polite form even there is no guarantee that every family member will not get upset with you for this. The thing you should be concerned is the way you put it on your wedding invitation. Here's the proper way:

First of all, never write "children are excluded" because it is too negative of a statement. A better way to write this is to say, "Adult Reception or Adults Only Reception." For the rest, please remember that you will not be able to please everyone.

Are you usually the photographer to shoot the weddings?

Yes, always.

Do you have backup equipment and is it the same quality as the primary equipment?

Yes, I use high-end full frame digital cameras as both the main and the backup equipement.

Is there a time limit for the online proofing galleries?

It's usually one year after the wedding date. But I still have galleries from 2 years ago that I haven't deleted yet.

Tell me more about Wassim Njeim Photography.

I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based in Montreal. The majority of my clients are from the greater Montreal area, but I also serve the whole canada and I get requests for destination weddings every so often.

Are you full-time photographer? When did you start shooting full-time? Yes I'm a full-time photographer. I started shooting full-time about 6 years ago but I've been in the photography industry for a lot longer.

What is your style?

Clean, elegant and when it comes to portraiture, sometimes even heroic. In weddings, even though I tend to keep a classic touch, I normally offer different styles with the same technical approach.

2. Number of guests: Why is it so important? Because if you consider that your wedding reception already take 50% of your wedding budget, if you don't choose carefully the number of your guests, you can have difficulty to afford the other categories of the wedding cost such as invitation, wedding planner, photographer, entertainement, etc. So when making your list, you really have to weigh the pros and cons.
3. Hire a certified professional wedding planner: A Professional Wedding Planner has the proper experience and training to help you in every steps, and he/she will never take over , but will simply take the stress out of the planning process. Furthermore, your Wedding Planner will definitely help you stayed on budget.

Wedding trends for 2011!

When we start a new year, we often search for new clues and details that will make our life better and more interesting than last year. The Wedding industry is no different. This year promises a lot of good things. Can you imagine, we even have a royal wedding this year! This is what I love with this industry, no way you can be bored.
Susan Southerland, National Wedding Expert from The Perfect Wedding Guide predicts some interested wedding trends for 2011. We'll see this year:

• More unique and personalized wedding experience. Basically, a wedding that reflects the couple's personnality


• More intimate weddings


• More environmental consciousness in the wedding industry meaning more eco-friendly weddings


• Less of traditional weddings favors
