Tuesday's wedding facts - "Something old, something new, something borrowed and something bue"

It's Tuesday and it's Wedding facts day ''Did you know...''. Whether you have been married for years or soon to be married, it would be interested to learn about wedding facts. Today, we're starting this new trend with ''Something old, New, Borrowed and Blue".
DID YOU KNOW that the saying of "Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" has been used since the Victorian period. The "something old represents the bond to the bride's family and her old life; "something new" represents the couple's new life; "something borrowed" is meant to give happiness to the bride when it's given by a happily married woman (the bride is supposed to have the same happiness) and finally "something blue" represents constancy and fidelity.
Do you know if people in your entourage still do this tradition? Do you?
Until next time, Happy planning!

(September 8, 2010 blog's interview - continued)
How many guests are permitted at your standard destination wedding?
We can handle from 2 to 500 people.
Do you have a dedicated honeymoon suite?
Yes, we have a beautiful Honeymoon Suite, with two balconies and one big enclosed, private veranda, all overloking the water, and there is also sea
view from the Jacuzzi. You can see that in our site.
Who performs the ceremony at the destination weddings at your resort? If the clients want a ceremony that honors a particular religion, can someone of that faith be provided?
The ceremony is performed by some representative of the Town Hall. If special religion representative is required, we shall get this person but at the couple’s cost.
At any case, we have to go to the Town hall as well, to sign officially the papers there for the Wedding certificate.
How much time would the couple need to reserve their wedding in advance?
We can accept a wedding even two months before the wedding if it happens to be availability, but the soonest, the best, starting even from a year before
the wedding.
Anything else you will need to add?
We are very flexible and capable to fulfill any special requirements of the couples.

Thank you for your comments and your emails on the last inspirational wedding board, it's much appreciated! Many of you have requested by email a ''Pink inspirational wedding board'' and some of you explained that you were worried because pink was a very common color for a wedding. Even if 'Pink' show up time and time again, the way it pairs with other colors can make it look trendy again. Keep in mind that you could also choose colors that have pink tones (see above).

Fall season 2010 - Wedding colors!

©creationsyouruniqueevent
As summer almost ends and autumn soon to come, the days are getting shorter and one of nature's impressive color slowly displays: orange, red and yellow. This is a great season to host a wedding! because the possibilities are endless to match the fall color from the invitations, the flowers, the attire and the decoration (see wedding board above).
Also, even if you can already guess most of the wedding colors for fall 2010, for example golden orange and brown chocolate, keep in mind that you don't need to organize your wedding around only one color. The way you mix them with other can make them look fresh and chic. Try this trendy mixtures:
Teal with chocolate brown.
Gold and marron
Pumpkin orange & chocolate
Copper and cream
Burgundy and silver, with hints of gold
Peer green and gold
Pumpkin orange and chocolate
What do you think about fall weddings?
Until next time, Happy planning!

Where is located Amorgos island and what its features?
Amorgos is the most easterly of the Cycladic islands, lying between Naxos and Astypalia. It is a dramatic and mountainous island with many rocky cliffs. The island has two mountains, Kroukellos at 821m to the northwest and Profitis Ilias at 698m in the centre of this long thin island.
This beautiful island has plenty to offer and is suitable to visit at all times of the year having mild winters, a mass of flowers and herbs awakening the senses during the spring months and lots of sunshine. Summer is hot and a good time for the pretty beaches around the island.
Amorgos has many places to visit including the famous 1000 year old Byzantine Monastery of Chozoviotissa, the ancient city of Minoa, Agia Anna beach which was the location for the film ‘Big Blue’ by Luc Besson, the Monastery of St George Valsamitis built on the ruins of a water oracle dedicated to the god Apollo, the Hellinistic Tower of Agia Triada in Arkesini and the Archaeological Museum in the traditional Hora.
The local villages can be reached by walking the ancient donkey paths giving the opportunity to see the natural environment and village traditions. Winter is a good time of year for hiking on Amorgos where there are seven way-marked paths giving the opportunity to see different areas of the island.
